Why When Following The Crowd Feels Inauthentic.

I’ve just updated my services page, and I decided to write it in story format and take you through the process of what it feels like to have session with me. Follow this link to read it Services — Sarah Yeoman. As part of this process, I had to come up against the thought that, that’s not how it’s done and what would that mean. It means that it is different, whilst it feels way more authentic than before there is a part of me that struggles with the idea that because it’s different and not what people expect that they won’t get the concept of the story-based service experience. I’m sitting here honouring that this felt like more authentic self-expression compared to before, because what I wrote before wasn’t wrong or not me writing it, but it was following the marketing strategies of someone else that wasn’t really a good fit for what I do. Part of the struggle for me is that I have had a long-held belief that I keep challenging is that my way is the wrong way and it showed up again with this change in my service page.

What Are You Devoted To?

I had this come up a couple of times last week and it had me thinking.

Thoughts that popped into my head were like:

Are you devoted to what is right or what is wrong in your world or the world?

Are you devoted to the stories that you tell yourself about what you can or can’t do?

Are you devoted to the possibilities you have in front of you or the struggles that you might have going on?

Are you devoted to the drama in your life?

Devotion can hold a lot of tension as many probably instantly think of religion, whereas I am using it as turning that sense of devotion to an outside source to being devoted to yourself and your needs.

You Matter No Matter What

You Matter No Matter What

Do you feel like you have to earn your place here on earth?

Do you feel like no matter what you do it’s not good enough?

Do find judgment is stopping you from trying new things?

Do you have a strong inner critic telling you that what you’re doing isn’t enough?

Are you constantly seeking external validation to provide you reassurance?

Some of us had childhoods that taught us that we were a burden, that we were in competition with other people to earn love and appreciation, some of us never received the validation in childhood that would have set us up for a life not seeking it. Those stories that we created out of those moments aren’t the truth, you are not a burden, you are just as worthy as your siblings, and you matter no matter what anyone else says or does.

Are You Letting Your Trauma Prevent You From Seeking Help?

Do you say I’m fine a lot when you really need some help?

Do you often state I can do it on my own?

Do you say don’t worry I can do it, when someone offers you help?

Do you feel like a burden when asking for help?

What’s common about all those statements above is that they are your trauma wounds speaking. Ones that you had to develop when no one came to help you when you were younger.

What Else Is Possible? What Are You Limiting Because You Think It Is Impossible?

I have been participating in a program that keeps asking what else is possible as a standard, not as an exception.

This is a 90-day program although it is stretches over 5 months because there is an allowance for integration. In today’s session part of the focus was on what are you limiting because you either think that it is impossible or that you will get a no so therefore you don’t ask. I found this an intriguing question because I think that many of us don’t believe that we can have what we ask for.

Who Are We In Relationships Through A Human Design Lens

Human design has interested me on many levels. Part of this interest has been the layers that you can dive into if you want. Not everyone wants to do the deep dive into it and that is fine if you want to stop at how it can help you make decisions. For me there was this desire to understand myself on a deeper level.
